Art lessons in the snow

Art lessons in the snow

Hill School in Oxshott, Surrey had art lessons in the snow

Despite the recent winter weather, we made it in to school and made the most of the snow by heading outside for our art lessons.

The Year 3 class set to work making “bricks” out of the snow using trays. With these bricks they built a castle-like structure. If it kept on snowing, they hoped to keep building the structure and maybe even add gargoyles and finials.

Meanwhile, Year 4 set about making snow sculptures of animals. There were snow labradors and rabbits, as well as gradons, turtles and sharks. Just like with a snowman, they used sticks and stones to add details such as whiskers, eyes and clothes.

We’re crossing our fingers for more snow so we can keep building the snow castle and the animal kingdom.
