Are showers really more eco-friendly that baths?

For years, environmental campaigners have urged people not to fill up baths with water, but take a shower instead. Are showers really more eco-friendly?

New research shows that the average shower lasts eight minutes, which is much longer than previous studies suggested. This means having a shower uses almost as much water and energy as an average bath.

According to the data, an eight-minute shower uses 62 litres of hot water, compared with 80 litres for an average bath.

However, when people use a power shower, which adds extra pressure to the water flow, the same length shower uses twice as much water and energy as a bath!

Generally, it is still more environmentally friendly to take a shower, but you need to make sure that you don’t waste water by spending too long under the shower.

wHaT? All these years: they've been telling us to get in the shower, when it doesnt really matter. But, I suppose, if EVERYONE took a shower instead of a bath, it would pay off, because f EVERYONE had a bath, they would be using that little bit, but that little bit times 7 billion makes A LOT! sorry if i am confusing!
