Animal rescue group WSPA get their own police force

Wildlife charity the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) has become the first group to invest in a Metropolitan Police Unit.

The charity has helped to fund the Wildlife Crime Unit, which will hold an exhibition to show some of the items they have seized from wildlife criminals, including a rhino horn worth £200,000.

The money will help also to pay for more staff to work on investigating wildlife crime.

Wildlife crime is a major problem all over the world. Illegal wildlife trafficking and smuggling is a serious problem, as well as the trafficking of endangered animal products like skins and tusks.
