Animal organisations join forces to help hurt and homeless animal victims of the Haiti earthquake

Nineteen animal organisations have joined together to help the animal victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

In the first few days after the earthquake hit Haiti, the WSPA and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) came together to set up the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH).

It means that animal welfare organisations have joined forces to help any animals in need.

Now 19 member organisations are acting together to offer care for the animals, and thanks to generous donations from the public ARCH were quickly able to respond to the Haitian government’s requests for help.

The team completed an assessment of the animal welfare situation in Haiti and have been providing immediate veterinary care for a number of animals from a mobile clinic.

ARCH teams will be travelling around the country and hope to set up clinics to treat, vaccinate and feed domestic animals like cats and dogs as well as livestock.
