Tom Cunliffe

An author called Tom Cunliffe came into our school

An author called Tom Cunliffe came into our school. He told us about his life from when he was a small child and what inspired him to write books.

He read to us from his book Good Vibrations which was about his adventures on a motor bike riding across America.

He showed us pictures and it made me feel that I would like to do something similar.

Tom has also written books about sailing, and he told us about his adventures on the high seas.

He answered all of the questions we asked him about who had inspired him the most and any advice he would give us if any of us were to write a book.

Tom joined us in our Readathon and we read for seven hours continuously. Staff and pupils came in and read sections out of books, magazines and poetry, often wearing a silly hat. Pupils also made cakes and drinks for everyone and

staff donated money to our special charity the Kisoboka Trust. This charity raises money for a school in Uganda.

It was a fantastic day, and I would recommend it to other schools doing something similar.

I have some great ideas for stories now, and I hope one day I will also be able to publish a book.
