Alton Towers lift scares shoppers

Even the most fearless daredevil would have to think twice before stepping into the Alton Towers Nemesis Sub Terra lift!

Shoppers were faced with a surprise at Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth; when they went to step into the lift, they saw it was just a gaping hole in the floor!

Luckily, it was just a 3D illusion created by artist Andrew Walker to promote Alton Towers’ new ride Nemesis Sub Terra.

Nemesis Sub Terra takes coaster fans on a ‘psychologically and physically thrilling’ underground journey, exploring a monster’s lair.

Nemesis Sub Terra, which opens on 24 March, is said to be the most terrifying of the attractions at Alton Towers to date.

Would you be brave enought to step into the Nemesis Sub Terra lift? Would you go on the ride? Let us know in a comment below…

I really want to go on that lift! It would be EPIC! You could also stand in the middle of the hole and to other people it would look like you were floating! :D
