Air staff too fat to fly!

been forced to stop their jobs while they lose weight.

28 flight attendants working for Turkish Airlines have been forced to stop their jobs while they lose weight.

The airline has grounded the overweight workers and will not allow them back to work until they shape up. They believe that their larger employees’ size makes them less mobile in emergencies and this could be dangerous, given the nature of their jobs.

In a statement to their crew, the airline reportedly said: “Weight and height are important factors… both in terms of appearance and the ability to move about.”

Those targeted have been forced to take unpaid leave and the airline has said they have six months to lose weight.

One of the flight attendants who has to slim down, Izzet Levi, told Turkish daily newspaper, Haber Turk, that he must lose 10kg before he can return to work.

wow that is stric and harsh but why does their make a difference on an aeroplane what can it do to harm the passengers on board?

It is quite harsh. But... It must be hard for them to do their jobs if they are very fat. The aisles on planes are quite narrow, so they would knock and squash people as they walk through. Also, if they are not fit, they wouldn't be able to help passengers with luggage etc.
