15 die in Europe floods
AT least 15 people are known to have died in flash floods brought about by heavy rain in Europe.
Rivers overflowed their banks, sending torrents of water through south-west Poland and eastern Germany. Three Poles, three Germans and five Czechs were killed while, further north in Lithuania, four people were killed.
Thousands of people had to leave their homes as flood waves hit their towns.
The police, army and fire services used helicopters and boats to get people away from flood zones.
