12-year-old girl rescued after being held hostage by her father

An Australian girl has been rescued after her father took her hostage during an 11-hour stand-off with police

An Australian man held his 12-year-old daughter hostage for 11 hours after storming into a law office and demanding legal aid.

The man entered the law office building in Paramatta in Sydney, Australia on September 6, with his daughter. He claimed to have a bomb in his backpack.

This sparked a hostage scenario response from police who brought in hostage negotiators, bomb squads and emergency crews.

The man then asked negotiators for $4,500 (£3,000) from the Aboriginal Land Council and a lawyer.

The standoff was underway for over 11 hours before police safely negotiated the release of the girl and took the man into custody

WOW that's not nice. I mean a father does that to her own daughter? Your supposed to learn to not open the door when alone for anyone except your parents. With a father like hers, I doubt this.
