Michael Turner spent his half-term break walking more than 15 miles a day. He walked this mammoth distance because he wants to help his little cousin who has Cystic Fibrosis. Four-year-old Maddie undergoes two hours of treatment, including 25 doses of medicine, a day to clear the mucus clogging her lungs.

The teenager from Winchester wanted to help his cousin and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Yesterday (Thursday) he finished his walk of 115 miles from Farnham to Canterbury along the North Downs Way.

Michael says: “I wanted to do something to raise money for my cousin for my Year 8 project and inspired by the name of my school (The Pilgrim’s School) I decided to walk the Pilgrims’ Way in half-term. It’s been a very tough challenge, but it’s been great fun as well. And I hope that the money that I have raised will help bring a cure for CF-sufferers closer.”
