1,000 dead after tropical storm hits the Philippines
President Benigno Aquino III declared a state of national emergency as over 1,000 people have been killed after a tropical storm hit the Philiippines
45,000 people have already crowded into rescue centres, and almost 500 coffins have been shipped to the areas.
Most of the dead were women and children who died in flash floods flooded houses when people were asleep.
