Henry Winkler Teaching Award announced
Category - Campaign news
The Teaching Awards are asking for your nominations and now there’s a new special award for those who have helped children with learning challenges.
The Henry Winkler Teaching Award for Special Needs 2010 has three cash prizes adding up to £40,000.
Henry, also known as The Fonz from TV show Happy Days, is the ambassador for our campaign, My Way!. The campaign, supported by the Teaching Awards, aims to get people to understand that every child learns differently and every child can succeed in their own way.
Henry Winkler has dyslexia and he has gone on to be a TV and movie star, and writes a series of children’s books starring Hank Zipzer.
You can nominate a teacher for Henry’s special award, or one of the other awards, by logging on to www.teachingawards.com/nominations.
Closing date is 1 March.
