Famous referee accused of taking bribes

China’s most famous football referee has been convicted of taking bribes to fix matches.

Lu Jun, who has refereed at the World Cup, admitted taking over £80,000 to fix seven league matches and has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison. 

Eight other officials were also convicted of either offering or accepting bribes.
