Wrap your gifts the eco-friendly way

YOU’VE sent your e-cards and bought everyone eco-friendly gifts but what are you going to wrap them in? Don’t worry, we’ve got some green ideas to make your gifts look great without hurting the environment.

Make your own wrapping paper – old maps, books, magazines and papers make great wrapping. Why not look through copies of old magazines and use the posters of your friends’ favourite people, animals or places as your our own unique wrapping.

Re-use old wrapping from previous pressies – don’t be too quick to throw away your old paper. If you don’t go crazy when opening presents you can keep the wrapping paper flat and tear-free, then re-use it next year.

Presents don’t have to be wrapped – gifts can come in all kinds of cool containers. Try giving your presents in a nice jar, box or basket you no longer use. Decorate them with paint and recycled ribbons to give your packages a personal touch.

Design your own paper – sketch your own designs or draw pictures on plain, recycled paper. You can even tailor each piece of wrapping so it means something special to the person you’re giving gifts to.
