WaterAid provides Indian village with clean water. Read villager Sonu's story.
Name: Sonu Lives: Madhya Pradesh, India Age: 9
Sonu's family didn’t have clean running water or a toilet in their home. Since WaterAid started working in his community the benefits have been felt by everyone.
Sonu says: “I didn’t like having to cross the road, I was afraid of the insects and ghosts. I am much happier using the toilet in the house. I can now go to the toilet on my own. Before, when I needed to go in the night I had to wake my father up to come with me as
I was scared.”
Now when Sonu needs the toilet he doesn’t have to cross a dangerous road. His health is also better because of the safe water and cleaner living conditions.
