Schools given Green Flag Award!
Over 1,000 schools have been awarded the Green Flag Award!
More than 1,000 schools in England have been awarded the highest Eco-Schools prize – the Green Flag Award.
Pupils from Blenheim Primary School travelled to Kew Gardens in London to meet Jim Fitzpatrick, the Minister for Food, Farming and the Environment and show him their green achievements. Two pupils report here on their day…
Today has been exciting, eventful and tiring as it has taken two and a half hours to get to London but once we got there it was worth it. While at Kew Gardens, we did some plant pressing, bravely performed a speech about Blenheim School’s eco activities and had a mesmerising tour of the new Tropical Extravaganza. This was an amazing trip that I will never forget.
The Eco-School’s trip to Kew Gardens has been fantastic. We presented our huge Blenheim card, in front of the farming MP. The Blenheim card was all about what fun Fairtrade and Eco things we have done. We were amazed to be one of the nine schools in the whole of England to be there so we were very proud of ourselves. It was a brilliant experience.
