People who are bored could die younger, according to researchers
A study by two researchers claims that people who are bored could die younger.
The study looked at over 7,500 questionnaires filled in by civil servants (those who work for the Government) between 1985-1988.
Those who reported being bored at work were also more likely to rate their health as poor. Records show that they were also more likely to have died from heart problems in later life.
However, the researchers say that boredom is not really what kills people.
They say that people who are bored are more likely to do things like drink too much alcohol or smoke, and that more sporting and social activities could help to relieve boredom and improve health.
