Kids' World

Name: Yogita Age: 8 Lives: Hoshangbad, North India

Yogita has been blind since birth. When she was growing up, her family were scared that if she moved about she would hurt herself and so she stayed at home all day and missed out on school and fun with her friends.

Once Sightsavers found Yogita, she and her family started getting the support they needed to help with her schooling and her day-to-day living.

She can now attend the local school, play with her friends and take part in activities that she once was left out of. This new start for Yogita has changed her life.

Yogita says: “I can now bathe myself; I join in with games; I attend school twice a week and I love to chat and laugh”.

There are millions of children in the world who are missing out on education because they are blind, or who could be helped to see again. Sightsavers is working hard to find these children and help them. You
