Kid's World: Fantasa

Fantasa (centre in the picture) has low vision, which means she finds it hard to see without the help of things like glasses or magnifying glasses.

Fantasa was finding it hard to read the board at school, but Sightsavers spoke to the family and the local school and now Fantasa has help. She has special magnifying glasses and books with larger letters. Now she finds it much easier to read.

Fantasa says: “Aissetta Babo is my best friend. We play clapping games at break. She is in the same class as me. I walk myself to school sometimes and other days my father brings me to school.

“My favourite subject is reading. I like reading stories the most out of all my school work. I do find it hard to read as I can’t see or read easily. It is sometimes difficult to write on the board and it can hurt my eyes. When I grow up I want to be a doctor, or I might become a professor.”

There are millions of children in the world who are missing out on an education because they are blind. Sightsavers is working hard to find these children and help them.
