First News grabs Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 star Madison Pettis for a chat about her new film, working with Miley Cyrus and being famous.

Hi Madison! Tell us about Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. What happens this time around?

In this film it’s still Papi and Chloe that you see in the first Beverly Hills Chihuahua film but this time they’re married and they’ve started a family. I am one of their five Chihuahua puppies called Lala.

How would you describe Lala?

Lala is very excited all the time! She’s always really energetic and always wants to run around and play with her other brothers and sisters. Whenever her daddy, Papi, tells her the story about the great Chihuahua warriors she always gets super excited and wants to act out the story. She’s a really fun character to play. A little shaky and over-excited.

Do you think you and Lala share similar characteristics?

Well, I get excited too but not as much as Lala does, I mean Lala gets very excited! I think if I acted like Lala did all the time I’d tire myself out quickly.

Are you an animal person? Do you have any pets at home?

I am definitely an animal person but I’m sad to say I don’t have any pets at home. It would be really difficult because I travel a lot. Also, I could never have a cat because I’m really allergic!

Have you ever had any pets?

I’ve had a fish in the past called Mr Strawberry and he was red and had little black dots so he really did look like a strawberry. I liked having fish so maybe I’ll get another one… they’re not too hard to look after!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 isn’t the first time you’ve lent your voice to something. How do you find doing voice-overs?

I love doing voice-over work. It is a little bit challenging as you have to make all of your emotions come through your voice, whereas with live action people can see you acting your emotions out. I do love doing it though. It’s awesome.

Which do you prefer: doing voice-overs or acting in front of the camera?

I really like both. I can’t choose!

You’re only 12 and you’ve already worked with The Rock, Miley Cyrus and Will Smith! What’s it like working with such massive stars?

I love working with people that I look up to. Will Smith was just awesome because I’ve been watching his movies for as long as I can remember. And it’s funny because, with Miley, I watched Hannah Montana before I guest-starred on it.

Who else would you like to work with in the future?!

Definitely Reese Witherspoon because she’s really good at comedy and drama. Maybe also Taylor Lautner… I love Twilight.

So do we. Out of all of the jobs you’ve done so far which one has been your favourite?

My favourite has to be The Game Plan. That was the first movie I ever did. I got to act with The Rock too so that was pretty cool!

I loved it because I got to act in it and dance in it.

What is the best part of being famous?

I actually love getting recognised and getting to see and talk to my fans. That’s the best part of the job!
