CHLOE Bridges is one of the newest stars in the much-awaited Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. She visited London to talk to First News...

Hi Chloe, how are you? Are you enjoying your visit to London?

Oh my gosh, I love it! I kind of want to move here! It’s my first time. I had a photo shoot where I got to see a few sites, but I need to come back.

Can you tell us a bit about Camp Rock 2 and your character?

Camp Rock 2 introduces a rival camp, so we are stepping up the stakes. It’s bigger and better, there’s everything from more dancers to new genres of music. Not only is there pop and rock like you saw in the first film, there’s hip hop and a little bit of rap. It’s really cool and there’s also more romance in this one, which is where I come in. I play Dana, she’s Nick Jonas’ character’s love interest, she’s a really cool girl. She’s from Camp Star, which is the rival camp. She’s not a bad girl in any way. She’s really real and honest and nice and outgoing which I really like about her!

What was it like working with the Jonas Brothers?

They’re awesome, they really are! I became such great friends with everyone in the film. They are genuinely really nice people!

You got to play Nick’s love interest. There must be a lot of very jealous girls out there!

Yes, probably a few! It was a great experience, he’s really awesome.

You play the piano and sing in the film. Did you sing when you were younger?

Yes, I have been singing forever but the piano is something I’m really trained in, I’ve been playing piano classically for ten years, taking lessons and competing, so it’s something that’s really a part of me. The fact that I got to do it in the movie was crazy. I never thought I would be able to bring it into my acting career, so I’m really, really happy about it!

Do you have a favourite scene?

That’s difficult, I had so much fun the whole time! Probably the last scene of the movie, it’s called This is Our Song. It was just so much fun to shoot because it was raining, the middle of the night we were all really cold so we were all huddling around this bonfire so, not only were we physically close, but we also became really close as people too. Everyone was in the scene. We had all become such good friends by that time. It was just a blast to shoot that scene.

What do your friends think of your leap to stardom?

I went to regular high school, so I have a bunch of friends that keep me exactly the same. They think it’s cool, but one of my friends for my birthday was like: “I don’t know what to get you, now that you’re all famous!”, I was like, I’m not famous! They just take it with a grain of salt really.

What have you been up to since making Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam?

Lots of things, coming to London! I’ve been pretty busy promoting it, which has been really fun. I’ve never done any of this promotion stuff before. I’m in Europe for the first time, which is really exciting for me. I’m going to Spain, and Italy. Thank you, Disney. And I’m just really excited for the movie to come out. We filmed it last autumn, so the fact that it’s finally coming out is very exciting! As for work, I don’t know what is next. We will see!
