A Kid's World: Sauda
Sauda is blind and does not go to school, but believes that if she did she “would be a different person”.
Sauda says: “I do not go to school as my mother does not have enough money to provide me with books or a school uniform. Also, the school is six kilometres away so it is hard for me to get there.”
“My mother is often ill and cannot help me get there. She is also scared of sending me to school because I am blind.”
Sauda is desperate to join her friends at school.
She says: “During the day, I stay inside most of the time. I love playing games like jump the rope, but I have to wait for my friends to come home from school to play with them. I believe that if I went to school I would be a different person.”
/There are millions of children in the world who are missing out on education because they are blind. Sightsavers is working hard to find these children and help them. Learn more at: www.sightsavers.org/kidzone.
