A clever swarm of quadrotors
The latest video from a team working with swarms of tiny helicopters went viral this week, wowing people with some cool 3D formation flying.
We’ve reported on the amazing work that’s being done at the GRASP Lab before, but this latest video shows that they’ve taught their flying machines some cool new tricks.
Watch the below video to see the tiny vehicles perform their aerial stunts.
Since they have four rotors and are so small, they are known as nano quadrotors rather than helicopters. They can carry out much more acrobatic and complex manoeuvres than a helicopter can.
Check out the video now, and see them navigate obstacles and fly in a 3D figure-of-eight pattern.
In the future, swarms of drones like this could be used in all sorts of situations, from natural disasters to warzones.
