X Factor

Hi people. Rockgirl and I are the X Factor reporters! So, to kick it off, I'm going to give a small recap of the first show of 2010! (even though I don't need to do this, I want to practise).

It all started off with a very random man, called Steven Hunter. Perhaps he was not dressed to impress, but his kareoke style audition certainly wowed the crowd and most importantly the judges! After a very long dance introduction (and an interruption from Simon), he began to sing 'Night Fever'. At the end, I wasn't sure what was going to happen, but he managed to get himself through to round 2: boot camp.

Also in the first show was Gamu, the new teenage singing sensation. Though X Factor have recently admitted to altering some voices, Gamu shone through like the sun on a rainy day, singing 'Walking on Sunshine' with her own twist. After a few minutes of fabulous singing, she was given four yes's. She and her mother got quite emotional, especially when her mother came onto stage with tears in her eyes. She too made it to boot camp.

However, not all of the people were lucky. Diva Features are just one small example of that. The threesome stepped confidently onto the X Factor stage, ready to sing 'Paparazzi' by Lady Gaga. They started to sing... and what a shock! Such confident people turned out to be awful singers! They were not stopped for a minute or so, however. When they were, Simon, Cheryl and Louis were horrified. After getting no's all across the board, the trio left the X Factor auditions with their dreams shattered, though they put on a brave face.

Surprisingly, young Katie delivered well after forgetting her words a few times. The curly blonde haired girl who was very confident faltered at first, but then performed from her heart and got through to the next round.

The most surprising audition of all was mother Shirlena Johnson, who sang her own version of 'Mercy' by Duffy, which was... interesting. She forgot the words that she had made up the night before, and sang the same words over and over again, dancing around the stage. The audience seemed to enjoy the performance, however, though it wasn't very good vocally. Simon even went as far as to call Miss Johnson 'fantastically nuts' and he gave her ayes. Louis agreed and said yes. Cheryl was the only one to say no. So, Shirlena made it through. Who knows what will happen next time we see her?

GUEST JUDGE - GERI HALLIWELL, covering for Dannii Minogue, who recently gave birth to a boy. Future guest judges include Pixie Lott and Katy Perry.

    a screen grab is something u can get on apple, you go on finder, search grab on applications and drag it into your dock, then click on it while the article is in full on the screen and on the bar at the top there will be a tab saying: grab window, click on it and it will take a picture of the entire screen. it will show you the picture thhe press exit and it will say save... and then save it into a folder HOPE IT WORKS :)
