The Girl (part 2)
By Moony (Age 11)
Emily had to get out. She flew down the twisting staircase with her long, red hair streaming out behind her. The only colour in this black and white world. Her trembling fingers grasped the bronze doorknob and slowly twisted it round, stay calm she said to herself. Now for the hardest part. As she ran, it all came back to her, the demons in black. The shadows. But something was different she realised. She could remember, actually remember everything. Every single whispered word. Every one. An unearthly shrieking tore at her very soul. She started to run. To run for her life.
There it was. The same scene from the same night. But this time she would get away, but not by running. Emily stopped and turned around, a new fire blazing in her eyes, her heart. She hissed at the creatures, daring them to come nearer, the smiled as another memory fought its way through the misty realms of her mind. She muttered something illegible under her breath. The shadows were starting to scream in agony as the curse melted their flesh. Emily felt the joy bubble up through her body but fought it down, the gate was coming nearer. But a few words escaped her lips, " Well that's what you would expect from a witches daughter"...
