Stardust by Neil Gaiman
By MissBlah (Age 11)
Once upon a time I think Stardust was a hidden jem. Then someone made a film of it and sudenly it was big news. Like a lot of people I read the book after I fell in love with the film and I am glad I did, as its gr8. The story starts in the town of Wall, where a boy called Tristan lives with his father. One day Tristan sees a falling star and promises to bring it back for a girl he likes. He finds the star in the magical world of Stormhold, which is reached by climbing over a local wall. The star turns out 2 b a beautiful girl called Yvaine, but Tristan is not put off and decides to bring her back anyway. Unfortunatly Tristan is not the only person looking for the star and the 2 of them are quickly caught up in a series of exiting adventures. Needless 2 say, everything works out in the end and they live happily ever after. Seriosly, whats not 2 like in a story like that? Its got everything – action, romance, a unicorn, a ship that can fly. The caracters are great 2. Not just the main ones, but also the people they meet, like Lord Septimus and the wicked witches. My teacher says a book review should talk about the bad bits of a book as well as the good, but with this one I honestly can’t think of any. I just luv it and I am sure you will too. I have'nt found any good websites for the book, but the film has a gr8 one… www.stardustmovie.com/ . Definitely worth a look just for the pics of Charlie Cox, who is Fit with a capital F. Nuff said.
