Laurel wishes she could just freeze so that she would stop feeling. Her mum’s gone and she has to go and live with her uncle’s family. Auntie Ellen hates her and her only friend is her loyal cat, Mr Pooter.

But who is the mysterious stranger who has signed her name inside one of her mother’s old books?

I enjoyed this book because it made me feel a whole variety of emotions – sadness, excitement, interest and laughter. I would recommend it to others, especially readers who like personal books or cats.
