Pictures on articles - can EVERYONE please read this

Can every member please read this.

Please DO NOT use pictures in your articles that you have found on the internet. We do not own the copyright for them, which means that they are not ours to use, and I will have to delete them off.

You can only use pictures that...

1. Are already on this website. You can use ANY picture that is already on this website. Just right click and save it to your computer, or drag it to your desktop.

2. Are pictures of books, computer games, dvds etc. If the picture is on a website like amazon.co.uk then you are allowed to use it because it is a picture taken by the product's company to promote the product.

3. Pictures that you have drawn or taken yourself.

All other picture will be deleted off. 

Our designer Rich has kindly made some pictures for you to use on your articles. Please use these, or any other picture already on our website whenever possible. It makes it a lot easier for me to approve articles if they already have a correct picture:Pictures

    Yeah, Ok! Usually I don't put my own pictures on my articles but when I did for my X Factor one it got approved so it must be fine.

    Lizzie - it depends. If you get them from Wikipedia or Blackpool's official tourist page, it should be fine.

    Your picture was fine - but in future, only get pics from their official websites or a picture of their logo.

    I did an article on JLS, without a picture on it. When I checked back.. there was a picture of JLS on the top!! How did that happen? Whatever happened, it was SO cool!

    MistKit, same. i did an article on birds [the RSPB] and when it was approved... there was a picture of a bird!

    Hi Swim21 - if you don't add a picture it will come up blank and I will add a photo to it. Any picture that is used as the main picture on an article - not someone's avatar - can be used on your own article.

    fjw2011 - we can be charged for using pictures that we do not own the copyright for. In cases where I have heard of this happening, the fee for this is £50. Imagine if I approved those 20 pictures from earlier! We don't charge you money to come on this website, so we couldn't afford to do it. Our designer Rich has made some pictures for you to use, and you can use any picture that we have published on the website already. I am not sure why this has upset you. Doesn't this make it easier for you to add pictures to your articles? It also means that your articles will be approved a lot quicker.

    I used a picture for my Article on LITTER and I copied it off the internet and nothing happened nad I've done it after that as well....

    Crystal- every time you use a picture that we do not have the copyright for, I have to take it down and use another picture. This takes me a long time to do. Please believe me that we are not allowed to use these pictures, and please only use the pictures that you are supposed to.

    Hollykind - not unless it is already on the website. We don't own the copyright otherwise, and the people who do own it could charge us around £50 to use the picture.
