I was just sent this: how cool!

By nwilliams

I was sent this by the people who made it because they thought that I would like to write about it for firstnews.co.uk.

It's called Magic Fish and you can buy them at www.prezzybox.co.uk.

ff

You get a 'magic teabag' inside it which you put in a glass of water that has been left out all day. Inside the teabag is freeze-dried fish eggs. The fish eggs hatch into real-life baby fish!

I am going to try it out tomorrow when I get into work. I'll keep you posted on how it works...

A company called Map Toys. You can buy them online on a website called Prezzy Box. I've just put the 'magic teabag' in the water. I'll let you know what happens next. :)

The box is pretty cool too. I'm just sitting here, watching the teabag. Waiting for my fish to hatch.

Yes! i have three tiny, tiny, tiny fish now! They are so small you can hardly see them. They'll grow up to 6 cms though. Hopefully. When you feed them their food you can see their little tummies get fatter, and I swear they are growing! :)

hiyaaa!!!! they sound soooo cool- what do u have to feed them?

  • nwilliams wrote on Monday, 30 August 2010 @ 16:55

They live for about a year it says. The only bad thing about them is that you have to feed them tiny brine shrimp (a bit like SeaMonkeys) which are alive... Feels a little bit cruel, but I guess it is only like feeding your dog chicken, or insects to a lizard.

Ps. Two have hatched so far :)

  • nwilliams wrote on Tuesday, 31 August 2010 @ 13:36

I actually have three - one was very small. But now he has grown a bit more and I can see him.
