Hi guys and gals of the FN region! Zorua101's back to post a poem I wrote on a train journey to the RCM, that was also for an English assessment. So here it is!

Together

T'was then a snowy, frosty night,
And Autumn was all ta'en.
Yet in the midst of all the cold,
There lay a maiden plain.

Her skin was smooth and warm to touch,
Her cheeks were flushed with colour,
Her limbs were dainty in elfin style,
Her gold hair was like no other.

Yet I found her here, laid down on the ground,
All stripped, all bound, in mourn.
And I, being one of noble birth,
Took pity upon her body torn.

I released her from her terrible state,
And sat her on my steed.
Together we rode over landscapes of gold,
But also ones of misdeed.

We made it to my warm brick home,
I clothed her and gladdened her heart.
We ate, we drank, we talked, we slept,
And she told me of her past.

"I was a princess, wise and kind
And loved by all the fair.
Yet as I walked, from trees out jumped four,
They stole me and left me bare.

"They tied me up and forced me down
Upon the hardened rock.
They stripped me of my money and clothes,
And then sat there to mock.

"Yet when they heard your horse's hooves,
They hastily made away.
And that was how you found me,
On that freezing winter's day."

"Your Highness!" I said to her, "It seems
It's family you lack.
As I am a knight, both proud and strong,
I will gladly take you back."

"Oh no!" she cried, "Please don't do that,
I wish to stay with you!
I never liked my royal life,
I wished for something new!

My rescue shows that you are but
A knight both proud and strong.
My rescue shows that you can also
Think the whole way long.

I never thought of men so high
As I now do with you.
You are my one and only love,
So let's marry beneath the sky blue!"

Her aqua eyes shone as we took our vows,
Stood beneath the sun.
The marriage complete as darkness set in,
Together, and as one.
