Born to run

A young greyhound pup is saved from drowning in a canal by a young boy, who then takes in the puppy as an adoring pet. Years later, the dog unwillingly embarks on a new life as a race dog, then moves between lives with new owners, experiencing new lifestyles and scenes. This book shows Michael Morpurgo at his best, using emotion to enthral readers. It is also told from different perspectives and people, including the dog, which adds to the effect. I would highly recommend this book to boys and girls ages nine and up. A superb read!
