The Lunatic’s curse

F. E. Higgins

Reviewed by Harvey Charlton, 11

I think that The Lunatic’s Curse is a good book, which I enjoyed from reading the first sentence: it is interesting, mysterious and bloodcurdling. It is such a page-turner that I didn’t get bored at all. Some of the characters have strange names like Ambrose Grammaticus and Acantha, but that all adds to the mystery. The story is about a boy called Rex who is trying to solve the mystery of his evil stepmother. This book is number four in a series of six. I never ever read fiction books unless my teachers or mum make me, but this book really has made me want to read the whole series. I think The Lunatics Curse is a good, fun book that children similar to Rex can relate to.
